Rowan Dean is one of Australia’s leading media commentators and political satirists. He is the host of the contrarian and number one rating Outsiders show on Sky News Australia and a regular commentator on other TV shows. Rowan is also the editor-in-chief of The Spectator Australia and writes a weekly satirical column for the Australian Financial Review. He is also the author of several books, including the novel Corkscrewed, a tale of hedonism and ambition in the heady days of 1980s advertising.

Rowan was one of the original panellists on the ABC’s The Gruen Transfer, and prior to that was an advertising creative director responsible for many top Australian and international ad campaigns. As an Australian copywriter in London, Rowan was responsible for one of the most successful alcohol launches ever—the Fosters Lager campaign featuring Paul Hogan—as well as co-writing an ad that has repeatedly been voted one of the top ads of all time, Hamlet ‘Photobooth’.
