Dr Will Davies

Following his graduation in 1972, Will Davies entered the Australian film industry and spent the next 37 years working as an independent producer of mainly historical documentaries and series for the ABC and SBS and for a number of international broadcasters including the BBC. He retired in 2010.

Will began writing books with the first published in 2002 and to date has had eleven books published. He was a member of the NSW Anzac Council chaired by Sir Peter Cosgrove between 2012 and 2019. He has been leading battlefield tours to the Western Front, Gallipoli and Normandy since 2010 and is sought after as a guide and historian. Over the years he has served on a number of boards. In 2018 he was awarded a PhD from the Australian National University for his thesis on a history of the Australian documentary film industry 1970-2010.  He continues writing books and is developing an educational initiative in Canberra.
